Sava's restaurant in downtown Ann Arbor is seeking a skilled sous chef to join our team! We are looking for a creative, organized individual with experience overseeing a kitchen. The Sous Chef will manage and assist in daily production of all menu items. Instruct and oversee a team of line and prep cooks to ensure proper opening, closing and preparation procedures are adhered to. Work with the chefs to develop and properly execute a seasonal menu, maintain recipes and systems, and control costs. Perform detailed quality checks each shift to confirm food quality and consistency guidelines are met. Oversee private dining menu production and execution. Assist with inventory and ordering. Ensure safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standards are upheld and maintained. Confirm proper labeling, storage (FIFO), and temping methods are followed.

The ideal candidate for this position possesses exceptional knife and cooking skills and demonstrates adaptability and willingness to learn and develop new techniques.

This is a station-based position, so passion and ownership for your workstation and for your product are imperative. You must be able to work in a fast-paced setting with the capacity to keep a sanitary, organized work space. Babo is hiring for our grab n' go locations at Nickels Arcade, Boardwalk and our new location in Ypsilanti's Depot Town! Babo offers an extensive line of healthy, responsibly sourced products including cold-pressed juices, chef-crafted salads, sandwiches, soups, and baked goods. 

We are seeking candidates with engaging personalities, a passion for making every guest interaction a positive experience, and who are enthusiastic to learn more about our babo-branded products and share their knowledge with our guests. A genuine interest in nutritious foods, fitness, and healthy lifestyles is preferred.

DEVELOPMENT & NUTRITION CHEF

Savco Hospitality in Ann Arbor is seeking a skilled chef to join our team! We are looking for a creative, organized individual with experience in meal design, research and development, and nutrition. This individual will be responsible for product development for our babo brand working out of our state-of-the-art commissary kitchen facility, Savco Kitchen. Responsible for developing and properly executing new product rollouts. Determine nutritional value of new and existing products and seek ways to improve and enhance the nutritional value. Research trends and identify opportunities to create new products that appeal to our demographic.  Assist with label design and packaging. Oversee our team to ensure recipes are followed consistently. Ensure safety, sanitation, storage and cleanliness standards are upheld and maintained. 

A degree in Nutrition and/or Culinary Arts is preferred as well as the ability to explain the benefits of eating healthy foods to our guests and staff. Strong product development skills and capacity to see tasks through from start to finish. Experience with labels and packaging a plus.
